Peace in the Storm

Hey Guys!

So sorry I haven’t posted in a while! This summer has been amazing for me and I hope it has been for you too!! This summer God has done so much for me! Before I went to church camp this year I went to the doctor and found out some news. Honestly when I found out I was so mad at God and wanted nothing to do with Him that day! I told Him to stay away from me and to leave me alone if He was going to punish me for something I didn’t even know that I had done. After that it was hard but I tried to tell myself it would all be ok and that God would take care of it. Mainly I would just say it to make everyone happy and be the good Christian preachers kid. On the inside though I was doubting God and thought He was punishing me. Then at church camp on Monday night the preacher talked about giving our sins to God so He can give us His blessings. At first I didn’t go down but finally I did and as I was praying my group leader came over and said that God wanted me to know that He was either going to calm the storm or keep me calm in the storm. Just like when Paul was a prisoner on a ship and the ship wrecked out on the water. God told Paul to have anyone who couldn’t swim to shore to hold onto a piece of wood and they would float in. Once they got to the island they realized it was a bunch of bad people who were going to kill them, but God protected them and everyone got saved. God said that’s how it is going to be for me. If I can’t swim I just have to hold onto His word which would be like the sword and He will get me to shore and people will see how strong I was and I will be able to show the power of God. When I went to the doctor a week later to get some tests I remembered this and it helped keep me calm. Then a week after that when I found out I knew that it was all going to be ok. God did give me peace and He is continuing to do that every day! I just wanted to share with you all what God has been doing in my life lately!

God Bless!!

Feed your spirit and worship God all the time!

Hey Guys,

All day I’ve been thinking of two things that really stuck out to me this weekend. 1. We have to feed our Spiritual life daily. What would happen if we didn’t feed our physical body daily and only fed it 1-3 times a week? Don’t we sometimes do that with our Spiritual body? I’ve learned that with our physical body you have to eat sometimes even when you don’t feel like eating even if it’s just a little. We have to do the same with our Spiritual body! Even if we just spend 5 minutes praying or reading the Bible or just worshiping God. He doesn’t expect you to spend your whole day doing that, but if you can that’s great and He will love it! 2. One of the people leading worship talked about how her dad is sick and could possibly die if they don’t find a cure for him. She said that God told her as they were practicing a song that if she worships Him no matter what happens it will all be ok and He will be there for her throughout it all. It was almost like God was telling me “Hannah worship me through the hard times and the good times and I will take care of everything. Don’t worry about anything.” If you are going through a hard time stop and just worship God for a little. Put on some worship music or sing a song from your heart or tell Him how great He is! I just wanted to share this with you all because it’s been on my heart all day. God Bless!

Love

Hey guys Happy Valentines Day!! I hope you all have a great day today celebrating the wonderful gift of love! There are so many different types of love. There’s the love from God , friendship love, family love, love between a boyfriend and girlfriend, and love between a husband and wife. God’s love is unconditional and He will never stop loving you. We are supposed to  show God’s love and try to love people no matter what they do to us. Friendship love is between friends and you just show that you care for them. Some ways to show this is to be there for them no matter what, talk to them, cheer them up when they are down, and be nice to them. Family love is almost the same here but you most likely are around them more so you can show a little more love to your family. Love between a boyfriend and a girlfriend is basically the same as a friend. Love between a husband and wife is a very special type of love that is meant only for marriage. God created this type to be shared between two people who are married. This year try to show God’s love and friendship love to everyone you meet! Remember God loves YOU and He always will!! I also love you all as my friends!!

God Bless you,

Hannah 🙂

New year new start

Hey guys sorry its been a while I’ve been so busy. My brother just got married this past weekend so getting everything ready for that had taken a lot of my time. I want to talk about this new year that we are in. Btw happy new year! At New Year’s Eve service at my church someone talked about leaving the bad stuff in 2012 and only having the good stuff to take with you in 2013. Now this is hard because if it was someone being mean to you or something like that you’re gonna remember it, but you just have to say that you are leaving it in the past. I also want to encourage you to grow in your relationship wit The Lord this next year. If you don’t have a relationship with Him yet I encourage you to start one. My New Years resolution is to read the whole Bible in a year. It’s gonna be hard sometimes but I am determined to do it! What’s your New Years resolution of you have one?

Trials= Pure Joy?

James 1 says that when we have trials in our life we should have joy because of it. Joy?? When I have hard time and trials in my life I have anything but joy. Well it goes on and says that we should have joy because that means our faith is being tested! So if we have something bad happen I guess we should rejoice and show Satan that we aren’t going to be taken by his plan!

Some Strongholds Satan uses!

Hey everyone so today the author of a little yellow book called Praying Effectively for the Lost came to church and he talked about different strongholds. A stronghold is anything that Satan can use to keep you away from fully serving God. You may not even realize that there is one there. I know I didn’t until today. When the guy got up there to preach I saw the word worry on the board that had some strongholds listed and I knew then that I had a problem with worrying, but then he said that the opposite is peace. I told God I didn’t want to worry anymore and that I wanted peace about everything! The other one was a little harder. He started to talk about bitterness and unforgiveness and I knew right away that I needed to forgive someone but I kept telling God “I can’t I can’t I can’t forgive them!” Then the guy said the opposite was love and we had to love the people that we had to forgive I told God “No I cannot love that person right now I hate that person!” This was during the preaching. At altar call after I told God I wanted peace I again told Him I couldn’t but it just kept wearing me down I broke down and started crying and finally said, “God with YOUR help I will forgive and try to love them. It’s going to be hard so I will need YOUR help.” I know that I have forgiven them and it’s going to be hard to love them but God will help me. I encourage you to pray and ask God to show you the strongholds in your life if there are any and to pray against them.

God Bless,

Hannah
